Short version: your video never leaves your device, and Reelify stores nothing about your clips. This page explains the rest. It is a plain-language summary and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

Your videos, transcripts and clips

Reelify cuts your video in your browser, using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly that is served from this site. The video file, the audio analysis, any transcript you load or generate and the exported clips stay on your device. They are not uploaded to Reelify or to any other service, and Reelify keeps no history of them. Closing or refreshing the page clears the clips you have not downloaded.

Automatic captions run on your device too. Your browser downloads an open speech-recognition model, the one you pick as Caption quality, from huggingface.co and its download network (hf.co) and keeps it in its cache: Fast (Whisper tiny English, about 42 MB), Better (Whisper base English, about 78 MB) or Best (Whisper small English, about 250 MB); on devices that use their graphics card, about 63, 111 and 323 MB. The files come from the onnx-community repositories whisper-tiny.en_timestamped, whisper-base.en_timestamped and whisper-small.en_timestamped, and only the one you use is downloaded. Only model files are downloaded, and they are downloaded from Hugging Face, a third-party host, which can see that your browser requested them, as any website can. Nothing else leaves your device: your video, your audio and the transcript are never sent to Hugging Face, to Reelify or anywhere else.

The Fix words list (pairs such as “wap => Whop”), your Caption quality choice and whether you closed the invitation to join the free community (with the date) are kept in your browser’s local storage on this device. They are not uploaded and not shared with other devices. Clearing the site’s data removes them.

The Pro option Follow the speaker works the same way. The first time you use it, your browser downloads one small open face-detection model file (YuNet, about 0.2 MB, MIT licence) from huggingface.co and keeps it in its cache. It looks at frames of your video in a background worker on your device and moves the crop to follow the face it finds. Only that model file is downloaded, from Hugging Face, a third-party host, which can see that your browser requested it, as any website can. The frames, the faces found and the resulting crop are never sent to Hugging Face, to Reelify or anywhere else, and nothing about them is stored.

The Pro Brand kit keeps your logo and your caption settings (colours, font, position, size) in your browser’s IndexedDB storage on this device, or in memory for the current tab only if the browser does not allow storage. Your logo is checked and redrawn in your browser. It is not uploaded, not sent to Reelify and not shared with other devices; clearing the site’s data or choosing Reset to default removes it. The kit file you can export is saved to your own computer by your browser. The six brand fonts (SIL Open Font License 1.1) are files served from this site, so choosing one makes no request to a font service.

If you paste a direct link to a video file, your browser downloads the file straight from the site that hosts it, into this tab’s memory. Reelify never sees the file or the download. A link you type in the app stays in your browser. A link you paste on the home page, or one that comes back with you after signing in, is carried in the address of the app page (/app?link=…) until the app has used it and cleared it, so, as with any page address, it can appear in the request addresses that Reelify’s hosting sees while that happens. Reelify does not store it or fetch it. The site that hosts the file can see the request, as any website can: your browser sends no cookies or login with it and tells the site no referring page. Links to YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and similar sites are never fetched.

What the server sees

When you use the app, our server receives:

  • your Whop sign-in details (your user id, name, username and profile picture), to show who is signed in;
  • a check of your Whop membership, to decide whether you are on Free or Pro;
  • when you start a project, a few values: the video’s duration, the number of clips, the caption style, and whether you asked to tighten pauses, follow the speaker or use the brand kit (never the logo or the kit itself), so the plan limits can be checked. The server answers with a signed, short-lived export permission, which your browser shows back to the server before each export; nothing about it is stored. The file itself is never sent.

Reelify does not store these in a database.

Cookies

Signing in sets secure session cookies so you stay signed in, and short-lived cookies during the sign-in itself. Sign out clears them. Reelify does not set advertising cookies.

Other services

  • Whop provides sign-in, memberships, billing and site hosting, including basic page-view measurement. Whop handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Hugging Face (huggingface.co and its download network, hf.co) hosts the open caption model and the face-detection model. Your browser downloads the model files from it the first time you generate captions automatically, and the small face-detection model file the first time you use Follow the speaker, and only then. Nothing of yours is sent to it.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces for this site, so your browser requests them from Google.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time, and you can use the tool without sharing any video with us because nothing is uploaded. To ask about data tied to your Whop account, use Contact support on the Reelify page on Whop. Anything you post in the Reelify community is posted on Whop, not on this site, and is handled under Whop’s terms.

Changes

We may update this page as Reelify changes; the date at the top shows the latest version. See also the Terms.
